Letters of Recommendation
Public universities do not require letters of recommendation, however they can be beneficial to a student's application. Private universities almost always require letters of recommendation.
It's important to get a recommendation writer who is from Junior or Senior year of high school. Students should have 3 recommendation writers: a math or science teacher, an English or Social Studies teacher, and a counselor.
Essays
All Texas colleges and universities
have different application requirements, including the essays. Some
require essays, some list them as optional, while others use a
combination of required and optional essays. Several schools use the
essays to determine scholarship awards, honors program eligibility, or
admission to specific majors.
